Position: Research Project Manager

Department: Psychiatry Research (Behavioral Health for Pregnant & 0-3 Patients & Caregivers)

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Hybrid

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Elizabeth Levey, the Research Project Manager (RPM) will work on a portfolio of perinatal and early childhood research projects within the SEED (Supporting Early Emotional Development) Program. Duties include coordinating schedules and activities, placing orders for supplies and services, tracking progress and results, and helping to prepare IRB applications and grant proposals. Requires excellent communication skills and extensive knowledge of database and project management software.

The RPM will be responsible for managing a research study(ies) including protocol design, implementation and tools required to satisfy a business or social goal or a scientific objective. Key responsibilities include working with the study team to develop study protocols, assessment instruments, and Institutional Review Board protocols; monitoring study implementation at all study sites; preparing and assisting development of manuscripts and presentations; and ensuring compliance with reporting to grant funding institutes. Will monitor budgets and spending; coordinate contracts with independent consultants and subcontractors. Responsible for hiring, training and supervising research support staff. The RPM will also assist with patient recruitment, schedule study visits, enter and update patient data, and administer questionnaires as-needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management


  • Coordinates and facilitates the grant project management life cycle, including initiation, development, and implementation of various complex experimentation projects.
  • Responsible for scoping, coordinating early grant activities, training staff, and managing the completion of investigational forms.
  • Coordinates clinical teams, and manages project timelines, to ensure trials or milestones are completed within the specified and in line with annual objectives.
  • Meets regularly with stakeholders, including clinical and support staff, clients and study teams, to collect and communicate business and research requirements, and set expectations for grant-related work.
  • Participates in weekly management meetings to discuss patient caseload, staff management, program objectives, etc.
  • Responsible for the completion of both grant and project management deliverables, including project plans and schedules, progress reports and investigational applications.

Research Management


  • Assists with development and writing of proposals to obtain funding for ongoing and future research activities.
  • Works with PI to select the most appropriate methodology and techniques for facilitating the model.
  • Responsible for producing qualitative and quantitative research plans, designing research questionnaires and moderator guides.
  • Works with teams (on site and/or off-site) to conduct pre-research and post-research analyses and evaluations.
  • Works with team to facilitate & ensure protocol adherence, quality assurance and HIPAA compliance.
  • Collects data, summarizes and interprets research data.
  • Collaborates with PI to author journal articles and to present findings at research seminars, study groups and conferences.

Administrative Duties


  • Supervises students and interns on research tasks, delegates tasks, oversees daily activities, guiding through demonstration of best practices and offering opportunities for professional development.
  • Schedules and facilitates staff meetings. Plans agenda and ensures that minutes are taken, edited and distributed.
  • Manages purchasing, invoices and accounts payable for PI's projects. Assists the PI with monitoring expenses, facilitating contracts, ordering materials and documenting all approved variances.
  • Liaisons with Institutional Review Board (IRB) for submissions, correspondence, and regulatory binders, including administrative amendments.
  • Perform administrative duties associated with the study's Data Monitoring and Safety Board (DSMB) or other safety-monitoring group, tracking and reporting adverse events and collecting data specified by the DMSB. Responsible for all other administrative duties related to research activities.
  • Maintain correspondence with area detoxification programs, correctional facilities, and other programs serving patients with OUD and co-occurring mental disorders


JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE



  • Requires Masters Degree (or equivalent combination of education and years of research experience)
  • Master's Degree + 3 years of research experience (Bachelor's Degree + 5 years can be substituted)


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES


  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented, have exceptional oral communications and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management, including budgeting, planning, execution, delivery, quality assurance, and reporting.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Professional demeanor, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, reliability and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible to changing needs of program
  • Must have the ability to take initiative and handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web browsers.
  • Spanish language skills would be helpful for coordinating with global teams, though not a requirement.

Compensation Range:

$66,000.00- $96,000.00

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
