Senior DevOps Engineer

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support a large-scale technical development program consisting of more than 200 FTEs. The program is responsible for delivering modern Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) solutions within a mission-critical environment.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will design, build, deploy, and maintain highly available systems and software leveraging modern cloud and container technologies. Working within a DevOps framework, you will contribute to major deliverables throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, work estimation, architecture and design, development, testing, deployment, automation, and production support.

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain cloud-based applications and infrastructure supporting ICAM solutions.

• Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated application builds, testing, deployment, and release management.

• Administer and utilize DevOps tools including Jenkins, GitHub, Rundeck, and Nexus.

• Build and maintain infrastructure within AWS, including services such as CloudFormation, EC2, S3, RDS, and VPC.

• Develop and maintain automation and scripting solutions supporting infrastructure and application deployments.

• Build, deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Support container orchestration technologies including Amazon EKS and ECS.

• Manage container registries and implement container security and deployment best practices.

• Participate throughout the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including architecture, design, development, unit testing, deployment, and operational support.

• Utilize automated software testing and performance tools such as JUnit.

• Support Linux-based development and production environments.

• Maintain source code and configuration using version control systems.

• Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, deployment, and production issues.

• Utilize issue and problem-tracking platforms to document, prioritize, and resolve technical issues.

• Work within an Agile development environment, participating in sprint planning, execution, and delivery.

• Utilize Jira and Confluence for project tracking, documentation, and collaboration.

• Participate in the program's production on-call rotation and assist with maintaining 24/7/365 availability of mission-critical services.

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• 6-10 years of relevant professional experience.

• Expert-level knowledge of Linux operating systems.

• Strong experience with DevOps tools such as:

  • Jenkins

  • GitHub

  • Rundeck

  • Nexus

• Demonstrated experience designing, establishing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and modern DevOps practices.

• Experience with automated software testing tools, including JUnit or similar technologies.

• Hands-on experience with AWS, including:

  • CloudFormation

  • EC2

  • S3

  • RDS

  • VPC

• Experience developing scripts and automation supporting cloud infrastructure and application deployments.

• Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including:

  • Docker

  • Kubernetes

  • Amazon EKS

  • Amazon ECS

• Experience deploying, managing, optimizing, and scaling containerized applications in production environments.

• Knowledge of container registries and container security best practices.

• Experience administering Nexus repositories.

• Experience with version control systems.

• Experience with issue and problem-tracking systems.

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile development methodologies.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation supporting mission-critical systems.
