International Center for Supplemental Instruction (ICSI)

The International Center for Supplemental Instruction (ICSI) SI Associate Adjunct serves as a dedicated point of contact and source of support for SI programs that are currently accredited or are working toward ICSI accreditation. The position provides individualized guidance to help programs strengthen their implementation of SI, maintain accreditation standards, and address areas where additional support or development may be needed.

The position also supports the dissemination of SI best practices across the United States and internationally through training, consultation, and professional development. The position interfaces with higher education professionals and organizations from across the United States and around the world for the purposes of advancing the work and reach of ICSI and supporting revenue-generating activities that directly support Academic Support and Mentoring (ASM) programming.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Serve as a point person for assigned SI programs, providing guidance and support throughout the assigned term.
• Be matched with up to 10 accredited SI programs and conduct at least one check-in with each assigned program during the service term to learn about their progress, identify areas where support may be helpful, and connect programs with appropriate ICSI resources.
• Coach SI programs that are not yet meeting accreditation standards, helping programs develop practical strategies to strengthen their SI implementation.
• Support programs aspiring to become ICSI-accredited by providing guidance as they work toward meeting accreditation expectations.
• Train and provide consultation to higher education professionals from the United States and around the world regarding the implementation, development, supervision, and sustainability of Supplemental Instruction.
• Provide online training and consultation related to SI program leadership, implementation, supervision, and best practices.
• Support the dissemination of ICSI best practices and resources across the United States and internationally.
• Share practical expertise and experience with institutions seeking to strengthen, develop, or expand their SI programs.
• Organize and facilitate ICSI events, trainings, webinars, and other professional development opportunities as requested.
• Interface with higher education professionals, institutions, and organizations to identify opportunities for training, consultation, and other ICSI services.
• Contribute to activities that support the continued growth of ICSI and its revenue-generating services, which directly support ASM programming.
• Review SI Leader Microcredential candidates and provide feedback as part of the ICSI credentialing process.
• Contribute to ICSI projects and initiatives as assigned based on the individual's expertise and organizational needs.
• Represent ICSI in a professional and collegial manner when working with institutions, organizations, and higher education professionals.
• Connect SI programs and higher education professionals with appropriate ICSI resources, expertise, and opportunities for continued professional development.
• Provide constructive, practical, and collegial feedback to SI programs and professionals to support continuous improvement and high-quality SI implementation.
• Organize and facilitate events and other activities as requested by ICSI leadership.

Part time, not eligible for benefits. Anticipated FTE will be .25 per contract (approximately 10 hours); FTE may be more but will always be less than .74 FTE (approximately 28 hours).

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.
• Completion of the Advanced SI Supervisor Training conducted by the International Center for Supplemental Instruction.
• At least four years of experience working in SI program leadership at a higher education institution.
• Active and in-good-standing membership on the US SI Advisory Board as an SI Associate for at least two years.
• Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and commitment necessary to provide effective support to SI programs in accordance with ICSI standards.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Supplemental Instruction.
• Demonstrated ability to provide training, consultation, and support to higher education professionals.
• Ability to effectively communicate and facilitate training in an online environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Education, Psychology, Higher Education, or another related field.
• Working knowledge of student development and/or learning theory.
• Experience providing professional development, training, or consultation to higher education professionals.
• Experience working with institutions or organizations outside the individual's home institution.
• Experience with program development, accreditation, assessment, or continuous improvement.

Supplemental Instruction Adjuncts will be compensated at a rate of $31.25 per hour for work performed under the terms of their appointment.
