Fitness Facility Designer (2D/3D Layout Specialist) Location: Remote (PST) Hours: 40/wk Duration: 6 months with possibility of going FT Department: Marketing Reports To: Creative Manager Position Summary We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Fitness Facility Designer specializing in 2D and 3D layouts to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team to bring commercial fitness spaces to life. You will be responsible for designing functional, visually stunning, and compliant floor plans and 3D renders primarily for commercial fitness facilities, with projects spanning multi-family residential and hospitality environments. The ideal candidate deeply understands the operational nuances of fitness spaces, including proper equipment spacing, user traffic flow, ergonomic layouts, and strict ADA/EAA compliance. Key Responsibilities Layout & Render Creation: Produce precise 2D floor plans and high-quality 3D layouts/renders for a wide range of commercial fitness facilities and training zones. Equipment Integration: Expertly place and configure strength, cardio, and functional training equipment for optimal usability, safety, biomechanical clearance, and aesthetic appeal. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Creative Manager, Marketing Managers and Sales to support marketing collateral, sales pitches, and custom client proposals with compelling visual assets. Regulatory & Safety Compliance: Maintain expert knowledge of ADA/EAA requirements, structural considerations, and safety regulations specific to commercial fitness environments. Hospitality & Multi-Use Familiarity: Apply facility design principles to occasional hospitality or residential amenity spaces as needed. Qualifications & Skills Experience: Proven experience in interior design, spatial planning, or architecture, with a robust portfolio showcasing commercial fitness facility layouts. Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD or similar). Strong 3D modeling and rendering skills (e.g., 3ds Max, Blender, or equivalent). Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of commercial fitness equipment footprints, electrical/flooring requirements, and user traffic flow. Compliance Expertise: Thorough understanding of ADA guidelines and accessibility standards tailored to fitness environments. Bonus Skills: Experience with EC design is a distinct plus, though not required. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to feedback quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $42 - $55 per hour. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
