Customer Inventory Specialist Supervisor

Bio-Rad Laboratories is seeking a Customer Inventory Specialist Supervisor to lead our Inventory Management team. In this role, you'll oversee backorders and escalations across the team, using sound judgment to determine when to step in directly and when to coach specialists to work through complex issues independently.

As the key liaison between GCO and GSC, you'll take ownership of the most challenging customer inventory constraints. Set priorities for the team, assign work based on each specialist's strengths, and keep the team focused and motivated while balancing competing deadlines.

A significant part of the role centers on people leadership, including training, coaching, performance development, and new-hire onboarding. You'll also remain closely connected to the operational side of inventory management by auditing data accuracy, investigating discrepancies, and developing and refining the inventory control procedures the team relies on.

This position offers a dynamic balance of strategic leadership and hands-on problem-solving. You'll work cross-functionally with Customer Care, Marketing, Planning, and Sales to maintain accurate inventory flow, resolve customer-impacting issues, and minimize disruptions. The ideal leader is comfortable moving between coaching a team, making decisions on complex escalations, and getting directly involved when the situation calls for it. This role will balance team leadership, operational oversight, and hands-on problem-solving. The Supervisor will prioritize and assign work, coach and develop Inventory Specialists, and step in to resolve complex customer inventory issues and escalations. They will collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Care, Sales, Planning, and Marketing, while monitoring inventory accuracy, investigating discrepancies, and improving processes to minimize customer impact and maintain efficient inventory flow.

How You'll Make an Impact:

• Own final-level escalation and resolution - serve as the top point of escalation for complex customer inventory problems that specialists and team leads can't fully resolve, protecting customer satisfaction and minimizing financial impact.
• Lead and develop the specialist team - provide training and new hire orientation, and keep the team motivated and aligned toward common goals.
• Set and drive department direction - shape department policy, communicate and implement the team's strategic direction, and ensure GCO processes are followed consistently across all product lines.
• Build the procedures the team runs on - design, implement, and continuously improve inventory control procedures that reduce waste, resolve physical-to-virtual discrepancies at the source, and optimize efficiency.
• Turn inventory data into leadership visibility - deliver regular reporting on inventory levels, discrepancies, and trends to management, using that analysis to identify and lead process improvements across the team.

What You Bring:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field, but equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Work Experience; 5+ years of experience in inventory management, sales support, customer operations, or a related field, with demonstrated experience leading teams and managing complex customer relationships.
• Strong strategic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly analyze complex, cross-functional issues, exercise sound judgment, and serve as a senior point of escalation.
• Strong analytical and technical skills, with a high level of attention to data accuracy and experience using and interpreting inventory reports to inform business decisions.
• Highly self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing deadlines, projects, and business needs.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and relationship-building skills, with experience partnering across Customer Care, Planning, Logistics, Sales, and Manufacturing to align inventory flow with customer and operational needs.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $62,400 to $106,700 at the time of posting. This range is inclusive of all geographic locations within the United States*. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of an offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.

*Minimum reflects our lowest paying locations, and the top end reflects our highest paying locations. The range in your geographic location will vary but will be within the indicated ranges.
