Credit Union Network Engineer I

USC Credit Union is looking for an experienced Network Engineer I to support the stability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure. The Network Engineer I will install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize network hardware, software, systems, and communication links to help ensure reliable connectivity and day-to-day operations. This position will assist with troubleshooting network issues, maintaining network infrastructure, and supporting technology solutions that contribute to efficient operations and positive member and employee experiences.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize network hardware, software, systems, and communication links.
• Monitor and analyze network performance, assist with performance tuning, and troubleshoot network hardware and software issues.
• Implement and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, gateways, remote access servers, domain services, security firewalls, application and device servers, and Internet/Intranet connections.
• Assist with the design and deployment of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other related hardware.
• Assist with identifying, assessing, and developing requirements for new and existing network infrastructure.
• Work with vendors to troubleshoot network-related issues and implement solutions.
• Create and maintain network documentation, including network configurations, network maps, processes, and service records.
• Assist with maintaining policies, procedures, training plans, and documentation related to network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
• Assist with evaluating and recommending new hardware, software, and communication products for network compatibility and business needs.
• Test new third-party hardware and software and stay informed of emerging technologies and industry developments.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, network engineering, or a related field.

• Two or more years of related network engineering or network administration experience.

• Current network or server certification.

• Experience monitoring network performance and troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

• Experience supporting and maintaining network infrastructure and working with third-party technology vendors

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $35.77 - $40.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
