Financial Aid and Enrollment Coordinator

The School of Nursing at the University of Virginia invites applications for a new Financial Aid & Enrollment Coordinator role. Position Summary

The Financial Aid & Enrollment Coordinator is a new hybrid position that will partner and support both the Assistant Director of Financial Aid and the Assistant Dean for Admissions. The role is responsible for delivering essential services related to financial aid and scholarship awarding and support, as well as, student guidance throughout the enrollment process, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience for every student. We are seeking a person who is creative, energetic, and demonstrates a sincere commitment to providing quality service and assistance. This includes but is not limited to: financial aid and scholarship packages for all new and continuing nursing students in keeping with federal and state regulations, adhering to university endowment policies and donor restrictions, assisting with the maintenance of the award and scholarship database in coordination with internal and external partners, maintaining reports to meet compliance for grants and funding sources for recruitment, enrollment, student scholarships, and financial aid, and participating in the recruitment strategy, evaluating applicants portfolios and assisting with the attraction of high-potential, prospective global students.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the awarding and management of School of Nursing scholarships following, institutional, state, and federal requirements.

• Work with School of Nursing faculty to manage Graduate Assistant hiring and payment.

• Communicate financial aid information to prospective and current students through email, phone, and in-person and virtual presentations.

• Maintain reports to meet compliance for grants and funding sources for recruitment, enrollment, student scholarships, and financial aid.

• Advise students, faculty, and staff on financial aid and scholarship policies.

• Collaborate with Development and Alumni office and school finance personnel to appropriately steward all awards.

• Connect students with appropriate financial aid and finance related resources.

• Conducting applicant file reviews in order to assess prerequisite compliance.

• Scheduling recruitment events.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is preferred

• At least two years of financial aid experience. Associate's degree with financial aid/financial analyst background may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills are imperative.

• Ability to interpret and apply policy in daily work is essential.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and projects, as well as the ability to work independently and with a diverse team of faculty and staff is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, and the ability to quickly learn new software is essential.

• Two years of experience working in finance, financial aid or student services is required; experience gained while pursuing a degree will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference will be given toapplicants with specialized knowledge of federal, state, and university financial aid and award programs, regulations, and guidelines.

• Experience collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

• Previous database management software use including PeopleSoft, Slate, Oracle.

Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

Salary Range

• The anticipated hiring range is $58,000-$64,000, commensurate with education and experience.
