The School of Physics at Georgia Tech currently has 63 academic (Tenure Track and Non Tenure Track) and research faculty, and its graduate program is ranked 21st in the nation by US News and World Report. The School has a broad research program with strengths in astrophysics, condensed matter, atomic, molecular and optical physics, physics of living systems, nonlinear science and soft matter physics. The School is also a key player in interdisciplinary initiatives established within Georgia Tech, such as quantum systems, neuroscience, microbial dynamics, planetary sciences, and data science/machine learning. Its diverse student body comprises more than 130 graduate students and 275 undergraduate majors.

AI4Science @ Georgia Tech:

AI4Science is a College of Sciences-wide Center for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) in Sciences that fosters collaborations among faculty members across the college to drive innovation at the intersection of AI/ML and traditional scientific disciplines.

The Center advances interdisciplinary research by organizing biweekly seminars, hosting biannual conferences, and providing seed funding for collaborative projects across Georgia Tech.

The Center capitalizes on the extensive infrastructure and diverse AI/ML landscape at Georgia Tech to support its mission, including faculty across the Colleges of Computing and Engineering, the IDEaS IRI, Tech AI, and the ML Center at Georgia Tech. By providing infrastructure, expertise, and seed funding, the center empowers faculty members to apply state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques to tackle complex scientific challenges.

Provide promotional, administrative, performance assessment, and financial/accounting services in support of assigned program(s) within a research center, academic unit, or other campus units of a school. These functions may encompass a variety of activities related to program success including coordination of program marketing, program administration, program operations, and program development.

Job Duty 1 -
Design/develop promotional and marketing materials to include those developed for specific target audiences in support of program outreach efforts

Job Duty 2 -
Plan, schedule and coordinate promotional events

Job Duty 3 -
Coordinate administrative activities associated with program operations such as procurement, records maintenance, compliance, meeting arrangements and minutes, and document preparation

Job Duty 4 -
Develop, analyze, reconcile and report financial data related to program operations

Job Duty 5 -
Develop and maintain performance assessment tools applied in program review to measure and report progress

Job Duty 6 -
Collaborate with internal and external entities to aid institutional or program support

Job Duty 7 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Four to six years of job-related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Event coordination: Organize events, coordinate logistics, communicate with participants, and support event execution.
• Newsletter writing: Creating, editing, and distributing newsletters; developing engaging content for an audience.
• Web design: Creating or updating websites, web pages, graphics, layouts, or digital content.
• Social media: Creating posts, managing social media accounts, developing content calendars, and engaging with audiences.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with project business management experience who can help support the growth and development of Artificial Intelligence for Science (AI4S) are highly encouraged to apply.

Pay range: $64,000 - $74,000/yr

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of research program promotion and administration. Included are skills in development and administering program assessment tools, marketing, and financial analysis and reporting. Also required are skills in planning, organization, spoken and written communications, scheduling and customer service. Use of office and specialized computer applications and databases are required.

This is a limited-term, sponsor-funded position for three years and is subject to funding availability thereafter. All employment and assignments are ultimately contingent upon available funding, business needs, and your performance of the assignment. Georgia Tech retains the right to terminate this assignment at any time for cause or, in its sole discretion, for convenience; in either case, Georgia Tech's obligation shall be limited to payment for hours and/or days worked prior to the termination date.
