The Civil Engineer performs site evaluations, civil engineering calculations, and design work for wind farms, solar farms microgrids, batter energy storage systems, and transmission line projects across North America. The position prepares construction drawings, coordinates with other engineering disciplines, and provides technical support through design and construction to deliver practical, constructible infrastructure solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate project sites and review survey data, existing conditions, and project requirements to identify design constraints and assess constructability.
• Develop civil site layouts, grading, drainage, and sit access designs, as applicable to project scope, and preform supporting engineering calculations.
• Prepare and revise construction drawings and design documentation using AutoCAD Civil 3D in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Coordinate civil designs with surveying, structural, electrical, and mechanical teams to resolve conflicts and produce complete, coordinated deliverables.
• Communicate with clients, vendors, building officials, and project stakeholders to clarify requirements and address design questions and review comments.
• Attend project meetings, prepare and maintain project status reports, and communicate progress, outstanding issues, and schedule needs.
• Provide construction support through site observations, responses to request for information (RFIs), review of submittals and test results, and evaluation of proposed field changes.
• Maintain construction documentation and update drawings and project records to reflect approved changes.
• Support preparation of proposals, estimates, statements of qualifications (SOQs), brochures, and presentation; assist with client relations and trade show follow-up.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

• Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • One to five years of civil engineering experience.
  • Previous experience in Telecom or Transmission and Distribution (T&D) is preferred.
• Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of civil engineering design principles, construction drawings and applicable codes and standards.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare civil engineering drawings and design deliverables.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills, with attention to accuracy and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate technical information clearly to clients and project stakeholders.
