Senior Test Technician (Vehicle Validation & Instrumentation)

We are looking for an Senior Test Technician (Vehicle Validation & Instrumentation) reporting to the Laboratory Manager. Working in close collaboration with the Project Manager and engineering teams, you will serve as the technical subject matter expert for the preparation, measurement, and execution of field and laboratory testing. In this role, you will contribute directly to the validation, quality, and reliability of our prototype recreational vehicles throughout their development process.

YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

• Translate engineering requirements into precise testing objectives and design instrumentation solutions tailored to recreational vehicle feasibility constraints.

• Autonomously plan, coordinate, and execute testing campaigns in the laboratory and at external test sites.

• Configure, calibrate, and integrate a variety of standard sensors (temperature, pressure, flow, force/load, vibration/acceleration), strain gauges for finite element analysis calculations and force measurements, as well as specialized measurement equipment (inertial GPS, telemetry).

• Program data acquisition systems (Somat eDAQ, Ipetronik, Siemens, IMC) and configure communication networks and buses (CAN bus / XCP).

• Operate test vehicles, capture visual and telemetry data (drones, RaceLogic), and execute regulatory certification tests (ROHVA, ISO, EN).

• Validate real-time data quality and integrity, troubleshoot system faults, analyze anomalies, and propose technical or methodological adjustments to engineers.

YOU WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

Required:

• Associate Degree (A.S./A.A.S.) in Instrumentation & Control, Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechatronics / Automotive Technology, or a related technical field (or a Vocational/Trade Diploma in Electromechanics with solid, relevant hands-on experience).

• Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in instrumentation and data acquisition applied to vehicle development.

• Expertise with a wide range of sensors and data acquisition systems, CAN bus configuration, and proficiency with test bench measurement setups (e.g., Instron).

• Proficiency and valid licensing/permits for operating recreational vehicles (ATV, SSV, personal watercraft, Spyder).

• Strong analytical mindset, exemplary rigor regarding data integrity, and high autonomy in complex problem-solving.

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg), work in various physical positions, and willingness to travel (approximately 10 weeks per year or more).

• Position requires current work authorization. Sponsorship now or in the future is not provided for this role.

• This is an onsite role based in Palm Bay, FL.

Preferred:

• Ability to communicate in French is a nice-to-have; qualified candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of French language proficiency
