Job Summary
The UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center's Office of Community Outreach and Engagement is seeking a mobile mammography program coordinator to expand access to breast cancer screening for underrepresented and medically underserved communities across the Greater Sacramento region. The incumbent will be responsible for providing programmatic, administrative and research implementation support, program evaluation, operational coordination, and patient navigation for the Mobile Mammo+ program. This includes serving as a liaison between the mobile mammography program and collaborating partners to plan; schedule and execute mammography screening days as well as any other future services the mobile clinic offers; manage data collection and reporting for program evaluation; and provide health system navigation and support. - Bachelor's degree in public health or a related field (e.g., health science, nutrition, education, communication, sociology, social science, etc.) and/or the equivalent professional work experience / training.
- Experience coordinating health-related programs, community outreach initiatives, research activities, program evaluation efforts, patient navigation services, or comparable projects.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse populations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all co-workers and other stakeholders engaged in the program; to consistently interact with patients and other members of the public with patience, courtesy and professionalism, both in-person and on the telephone; and to effectively respond to individuals who may be angry or upset.
- Ability to efficiently use computer system applications for all functions required for this position, including electronic mail, spreadsheets, word processing, REDCap and medical office management, (i.e. scheduling, template maintenance, maintenance of demographic and insurance information).
- Ability to learn and navigate the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system (eg. EPIC).
- Ability to engage with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds effectively.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with medically underserved or minority populations in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn how to use REDCap database.
- Knowledge of EPIC (EMR).
- Speaks, reads and writes Spanish or another language other than English.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn and understand all pertinent laws, regulations, and guidelines governing medical records; confidentiality, privacy, and provision to others, including HIPAA.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn about health care insurance systems, which may include Medi-Cal, MediCare, HMO, PPO, fee-for-service, county funded coverage, to support scheduling, follow up care coordination, and billing functions as needed.
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics when transferring or assisting patients; ability to safely assist patients.
- Ability to handle confidential information such as CD's and other medical documents.

Department Overview The University of California, Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCDCCC) is a Comprehensive Cancer Center designated by the National Cancer Institute, and an Organized Research Unit under the Office of Research. UCDCCC is a clinical and research enterprise consisting of 255 faculty members from the Davis, Sacramento, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory campuses with research funding totaling $54M. The UCDCCC's Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) catalyzes, conducts, and leads bidirectional outreach and engagement that addresses the cancer control, prevention and research needs of our 19-county catchment area (Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Merced, Nevada, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Sierra, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Placer, Yolo, and Yuba). Department Specific Job Scope The MobileMammo+ Program Coordinator supports the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center's Office of Community Outreach and Engagement by coordinating mobile health services designed to improve access to screening, diagnostic, and treatment services for medically underserved populations. The incumbent serves as a liaison among UC Davis Health clinical departments, community organizations, external health systems, and patients to facilitate mobile screening events, patient navigation, data collection, program evaluation, and research activities. The position contributes to outreach, implementation, quality improvement, and reporting efforts that support the Cancer Center's objectives to reduce the cancer burden throughout its 19-county catchment area.
Responsibilities include coordinating outreach and screening events; facilitating patient scheduling, registration, eligibility verification, and follow-up care; supporting community partnerships and stakeholder engagement; maintaining and reporting program and research data; assisting with program evaluation, quality improvement, and grant reporting activities; and providing health system navigation to address barriers to care. The incumbent supports implementation of research and evidence-based interventions designed to improve cancer screening, diagnostic follow-up, and treatment access, while ensuring compliance with institutional, regulatory, clinical, and funding requirements.
The position works collaboratively with clinical, research, operational, and community partners to support the successful delivery, evaluation, and expansion of mobile health services and contributes to the achievement of the Cancer Center's community outreach and engagement goals.

Work Environment UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
