Communications Specialist

Job Description

• Generate student awareness and interest in The Cybersecurity Center through a wide range of outreach and communication activities including social media, email, and print communication, presentations, and online events.
• QA all communications materials to ensure that all communications are aligned with our brand, messaging, and tone of voice.
• Identify outreach opportunities by maintaining active communication with other
  departments at the university.
• Research, collect, and analyze data to help support strategies for the best outreach and
  communications practices.
• Collaborate with other departments and cross-analyze data for outreach outcome statistics.
• Maintain and update a list of media contacts and foster relationships with key journalists in
  the Cybersecurity field both locally and nationally.
• Organize and enable coverage of activities and events and provide media representatives with relevant information.

Required Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with a wide audience
• Superb organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize duties
  Ability to research industry market news and audience trend data using multiple sources

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a cybersecurity training or educational environment
• Two (2) years of experience in a leadership role in Communications, Project Management, or a related department
• Experience in leading projects with limited deadlines

Salary for Announcement

The hourly rate that the University reasonably expects to pay for this part-time Temp Hourly position is established at $20 / hour for 7 hours a week.
