Financial Analyst

Analyze and administer financial activity for the Courant Institute by reviewing transactions across operating, restricted, and endowment accounts; evaluate compliance with University policies and internal control procedures; and prepare financial analyses that support annual budget development and long range planning. Manage journal transfers, budget modifications, and fiscal inquiries while serving as a key liaison to faculty, administrative units, and central University offices to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting

Required Experience:
3+ years of quantitative analysis experience in finance or accounting or equivalent combination

Strong analytical and organizational skills. Effective problem solving and multi-tasking skills. Demonstrate strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent writing, communication and Excel skills. Customer service oriented. The ability to work in a fast past environment.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong understanding of NYU business processes and systems. Advanced Excel skills.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $77,000.00 to USD $80,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
