Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

RK&K is seeking a client-focused Project Manager to help drive the continued growth of our municipal water and wastewater practice across Florida. This leadership role will serve as a key contributor to the expansion of RK&K's water/wastewater services, combining project delivery, client relationship management, and business development.

Operating in a hybrid work environment, the position includes a balance of remote work, in-office collaboration, and direct engagement with clients throughout the state. The successful candidate will cultivate and strengthen trusted relationships with municipal utility clients, identify and pursue new business opportunities, lead or support strategic pursuits, and lead the delivery of high-quality water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Through technical excellence, client service, and industry leadership, this individual will play an important role in advancing RK&K's presence and success in the Florida market.

Essential Functions

• Manage and grow existing municipal client accounts, including the development, negotiation, and execution of task orders under continuing services contracts and master service agreements (MSAs).
• Serve as point of contact for municipal utility clients, fostering trusted relationships and delivering exceptional client service throughout Florida.
• Lead tasks for planning, design, and delivery of municipal water, wastewater, and reclaimed water infrastructure projects.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and risk to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, support proposal and interview efforts, and contribute to the continued growth of RK&K's water/wastewater practice in Florida.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, subconsultants, municipalities, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders throughout project development and delivery.
• Lead project quality management efforts, including QA/QC reviews, to ensure deliverables meet RK&K standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida, or ability to obtain Florida licensure within six months.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in municipal water and wastewater consulting.
• Proven experience managing municipal utility infrastructure projects through planning, design, permitting, and construction.
• Demonstrated success managing project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong client relationship and account management experience with municipal utility clients.
• Experience managing task orders under continuing services contracts and master service agreements (MSAs).
• Demonstrated success supporting business development, proposal preparation, and project pursuits.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience planning, permitting, and designing lift stations, force mains, gravity sewer systems, water distribution systems, utility master plans, and treatment facilities.
• Established relationships with municipalities, utilities, and regulatory agencies throughout Florida.
• Experience managing municipal continuing services contracts and task-order-based programs.
• Demonstrated success winning and managing municipal utility projects and continuing services contracts.
• Knowledge of Florida utility permitting requirements and coordination with FDEP, water management districts, and local regulatory agencies.
• Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline.
