What to Expect

Tesla is currently seeking a motivated and accomplished Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, who will be dedicated to supporting our Solar Glass Roof and Power Electronics manufacturing operations at Gigafactory New York in Buffalo.


What You'll Do
  • Embody Tesla's mission, philosophy, and goals by displaying a positive attitude and strong work ethic while leading and mentoring a shift maintenance team of up to 20 Equipment Maintenance Technicians, ensuring compliance with safe work practices and procedures
  • Assist in interviewing, hiring, and developing training programs to build and grow a high-performing maintenance team
  • Maintain manufacturing production tools to optimal working order and maximum uptime, performing and organizing all scheduled preventative maintenance activities and creating maintenance operating procedures
  • Troubleshoot root causes of tool errors and substandard performance in a cost-effective and timely manner, responding quickly to resolve unanticipated equipment problems
  • Communicate and collaborate with Production Engineering, Quality, and Production Teams to optimize tool performance and drive continuous improvement activities
  • Drive additional projects as needed by management or as business needs evolve
  • Support a culture of operational excellence by proactively identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and equipment reliability across the shift

What You'll Bring
  • Associates degree (Engineering or Technology Related Degree) and/or relevant military experience preferred
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of maintenance technicians
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and maintaining high volume electro-mechanical systems and components
  • Experience with high speed automated work cells, laminators, dispense and mechanical attach tools, conveyor systems and packaging equipment is preferred, but not required
  • Experience and demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience leading safe work practices and procedures, able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Exhibit effective written and verbal communication

    Expected Compensation
    • Supervisor Production Line Maintenance - $97,200 - $145,800/annual salary
    • Associate Mgr Production Line Maintenance - $115,200 - $172,800/annual salary
    • Mgr Production Line Maintenance - $136,800 - $205,200/annual salary
    • Sr Mgr Production Line Maintenance - $158,400 - $237,600/annual salary
    + cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
