The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is responsible for supporting the IT needs of UC Irvine faculty, students, and staff. Our mission is to provide information technology leadership, services, and innovative solutions to promote the research, education, and community service goals of the University. Your Role on the Team Under the general supervision of the Manager, Telecom Engineers and Field Technicians, the Telecommunications Administrator applies skills as a seasoned, experienced communications professional with a full understanding of industry practices and relevant policies and procedures and solid telecommunications knowledge and experience to support, administer, maintain, and enhance UC Irvine's enterprise communications services. Provides telephone, voicemail, ACD/call center, automated attendant, and 911 services to UCI Irvine faculty, staff, and students, while resolving a wide range of complex technical issues and independently determining appropriate solutions. Demonstrates competency in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions. Processes telecommunications service requests; performs client-side system administration, maintenance, and support for the campus Mitel PBX, Microsoft Teams Phone, AWS Connect contact center platform, analog gateway infrastructure, and related telecommunications systems; and supports VOIP, digital, softphone, and analog technologies. The primary focus of the position is driving Teams Phone migrations and supporting enterprise telecommunications modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, experience improving operational processes and workflows, and the ability to provide technical leadership, project support, design consultation, and vendor coordination. The position is also responsible for maintaining technical documentation, inventory records, and accurate telecommunications billing. What It Takes to be Successful Required:
