The successful candidate will provide field inspection services during nighttime operations to ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, safety requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulations.This position requires a highly motivated professional with extensive experience in construction inspection, contractor coordination, documentation, quality assurance, and stakeholder communication. The Night Shift Construction Inspector will serve as Jacobs' representative in the field and play a critical role in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contractual requirements.Key Responsibilities Perform field inspections of construction activities during night shift operations. Verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, contract documents, permits, and applicable codes. Monitor contractor workmanship, methods, materials, and installation practices. Inspect earthwork, paving, utility installations, structures, maintenance of traffic, and related infrastructure components. Identify and document deficiencies, non-conforming work, and corrective actions. Coordinate and witness field testing activities conducted by laboratories and specialty consultants. Review material certifications, test reports, and inspection records. Maintain detailed daily inspection reports and quality documentation. Monitor construction activities for compliance with OSHA requirements, project safety plans, and site-specific safety procedures. Promote Jacobs' commitment to safety and a zero-incident culture. Prepare and maintain daily inspection reports using agency and client-approved software platforms. Document quantities, contractor manpower, equipment utilization, weather conditions, project progress, and observations. Maintain photographic records of construction activities and project milestones. Assist in preparation of punch lists, field memoranda, and non-compliance documentation. Coordinate closely with contractors, project managers, engineers, utility companies, and client representatives. Attend progress meetings, nightly coordination meetings, and pre-construction briefings. Provide timely updates regarding schedule impacts, quality concerns, and construction conflicts. Support resolution of field issues while maintaining contractual compliance. Track progress against construction schedules and identify potential delays. Review work zone setups and temporary traffic control devices. Verify project records necessary for pay estimates and contract administration."
