Department's Website: Provide overall leadership to the Office of Financial Aid regarding all financial assistance programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and thorough administration of federal, state, and institutional student aid funds; developing policy; managing department staff; budgeting; reporting; and optimizing student access to funding. Caring Campus Responsibilities: As a member of the UACCB community, each employee is responsible for advancing the Caring Campus culture to enhance student connection and success and to embody the campus purpose: Improve Lives. Key duties include adhering to the campus name badge policy, treating all visitors as guests, engaging with the campus community by reviewing institutional communications, participating in campus events, and supporting a collaborative, positive workplace environment. Position Duties 50% - Position Duty #1 Direct daily operations and coordinate and oversee the delivery of financial assistance programs ensuring compliance with all Federal, State and Institution regulations. Maintain current knowledge of financial aid regulations and develop and modify procedures accordingly. Incorporate innovative trends into financial aid, scholarships, and the Federal work-study program. Develop and maintain policies and procedures and set goals for the Financial Aid Department that support the efficient delivery of services. 25% - Position Duty #2 Provide leadership and management of Financial Aid staff to work collaboratively within the Financial Aid office and with other UACCB departments; create a culture of high ethical standards and superior customer service; promote professional development; apportion duties; and ensure compliance with UACCB personnel policies and procedures including documenting, taking corrective action when needed and evaluating performance. 25% - Position Duty #3 Prepare, submit and monitor required reports and operating budgets, including but not limited to preparing data for audits, overseeing institutional scholarship and the Financial Aid department budgets, completing or providing information for IPEDS, FISAP, Gainful Employment/FVT and ADHE reports, and analyzing and forecasting expenditures. Monitor and report Loan Cohort Default Rates to Administration. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge Principles and practices of higher education administration, particularly within the community college mission and the delivery of financial aid. Federal, state, and local policies and regulations affecting higher education (e.g., FERPA, ADA/Section 504, Title IV). Budget development and fiscal management Strategies to support student access and success. Use of institutional research, data analysis, and performance metrics for planning and evaluation. Current technologies supporting academic operations. Skills Effective budget preparation, resource allocation, and financial oversight. Conflict resolution, negotiation, and consensus building. Strong communication-oral, written, and interpersonal-with diverse audiences. Abilities Manage multiple departments, initiatives, and complex projects simultaneously. Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, students, and community partners. Adapt to changing enrollment trends, workforce needs, and policy environments.
