Overview

To support the mission of Helio Health, Inc., the Health Information Technology (H.I.T.) Application Specialist is responsible for activities related to the implementation, maintenance, and integrity of the H.I.T. operating environments for the organization.

This position will require candidates to work on-site in Syracuse, NY.

Pay Rate: $62,500 - $66,000 per year

In addition to Helio Health's comprehensive benefits package, this position is eligible to receive a Sign-On Incentive up to $1,500!

Working Relationships:

    Reports directly to the H.I.T. Director. Takes direction from the Chief Information Office, Vice President of Digital Strategy and others as appropriate.
  • Works with Helio Health staff to support electronic health record (EHR)usage and ticket response.
  • Collaborates with the Service/Program/Clinic Directors and Regional VP's to ensure EHR needs are met


Responsibilities

  • Understands workflow and assists users in leveraging the clinical informatics systems to support and inform high quality care.
  • Develops a mastery of the organization's H.I.T. systems in order to provide ongoing support for all Helio Health end users.
  • Manages the H.I.T. help desk to resolve system and user issues, ensure timely assistance, and end user satisfaction.
  • Uses metrics and data to continually improve the support and services provided by the H.I.T. team.
  • Maintains working relationships with the application and systems vendors.
  • Stays abreast of system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
  • Provides end user support for NYS Offices of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and Office of Mental Health (OMH) forms.
  • Contributes to the building and maintenance of internal and end-user documentation.
  • Creates and updates forms within the EHR, including introductory level coding.
  • Support digital adoption initiatives.
  • Responsible to support an "On-Call" rotation to support the program outside of normal business hours.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required. Bachelor's Degree preferred in Health Information Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, Data/Statistics, Clinical, Medical, or a related field.
  • 3 years' experience in a healthcare or clinical setting, and/or Health Information Technology
  • Equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Has an in-depth understanding and knowledge of privacy laws, workflows, policies and procedures, patient care/clinical business objectives, regulatory requirements and industry best practices for patient care/processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment; self-motivated.
  • Excellent interpersonal/customer service skills; ability to work well with end users.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with senior management; demonstrated ability to communicate solutions and educate.
  • Ability to lead change.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Proficient knowledge of productivity applications (i.e. Office 365).
  • Ability to visually troubleshoot software challenges.
  • Ability to type greater than 50 wpm desired.

Salary and hourly compensation offers are based on candidate's education level and experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager and program.
