UMKC's Kansas City Athletics Job Description
Kansas City Athletics (UMKC) is seeking to hire a Manager of Kansas City Athletics Communications to direct communications operations, including storytelling, media relations, digital communications, and brand messaging. This position has direct or shared oversight of creative storytelling, digital content and social media for KC Athletics, advancing recruiting, fan engagement, brand growth and student-athlete success. The primary function of this position is to develop and advance the brand of Kansas City Athletics brand through direction of all functions of the Strategic Communications unit, including, but not limited to: * Oversight and leadership of the Strategic Communications staff, including full-time, graduate assistant and student positions. Nights and weekend work is required. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications
Possesses strong written and oral communication skills with a background in media relations and/or journalism. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Has knowledge of best practices and concepts in the communications function. Creative thinker and high sense of self-motivation. Experience with relevant stat software, Adobe Creative Suite and Canva. Knowledge of NCAA publicity and statistical policies. Hands on experience in stats and gameday operations of a communications unit. Ability to work various hours, including nights, weekends and holidays. Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $53,976 - $87,500 annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. The University of Missouri provides generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your bottom line.
