Senior Facility Manager - JLL What this job involves:

The Senior Facility Manager role is your opportunity to lead operational excellence at commercial and industrial facilities while serving as the strategic liaison between operations, leadership, and vendors. You'll optimize facility performance, manage capital projects, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements while leading a team of facility management professionals. This position offers the chance to drive efficiency, implement innovative maintenance strategies, and directly impact organizational success through expert facility oversight and cross-functional collaboration.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Oversee daily operations of assigned manufacturing facilities, managing all building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and security to ensure a safe and productive environment
  • Utilize CMMS to schedule, track, and manage work orders while maintaining and enhancing preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment failures and maximize operational efficiency
  • Perform repair/replace analytics for building infrastructure and mechanical systems, analyzing maintenance outliers to determine root causes and direct appropriate corrective actions
  • Prepare and manage facility budgets, track variances, and oversee capital budgets, R&M spend, and G&A expenditures to ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Identify, qualify, and manage relationships with national and regional vendors, negotiating contracts and monitoring performance to ensure service delivery meets standards
  • Plan, schedule, and execute approved capital projects and facility renovation initiatives on time, within scope, and on budget with minimal disruption to production processes
  • Lead and develop your team of facility management professionals through actionable career development plans and participation in compensation planning processes
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Facility Management or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of experience in facilities management, preferably in manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing capital projects and comprehensive maintenance programs
  • Proven experience with vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget management
  • Advanced knowledge of building systems, maintenance requirements, and CMMS implementation and utilization
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and facility management software systems with the ability to present complex projects to executive leadership
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Travel between sites across multiple states required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Facility Management or related field
  • Professional certifications such as CPM (Certified Property Manager), RPA (Real Property Administrator), or CSM (Certified Systems Maintenance)
  • Experience supporting corporate roll-out projects and creating execution scopes for other departments
  • Knowledge of standard business and accounting practices specific to facility operations
  • Experience partnering with EH&S teams to maintain regulatory compliance in manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated track record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
  • Experience with third-party property owner relationships and contract compliance management

Location: Onsite in Chicago

Work Shift: First shift hours with on-call responsibilities

Estimated compensation for this position:

120,000.00 - 145,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
