Pay Rate: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour

Schedule: 1st and 2nd shift openings working Monday - Friday

Experienced CNC Machinist to join our aerospace and defense manufacturing team. The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, and/or Swiss machines using existing CNC programs to produce precision-machined components that meet customer and quality requirements. CNC programming is not required for this position.

Job Duties



  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and/or Swiss machines using existing CNC programs.
  • Perform machine changeovers, tooling installation, and fixture setup.
  • Load, verify, and execute approved CNC programs.
  • Adjust tool offsets and machine parameters to maintain dimensional accuracy.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Apply GD&T requirements during machining and inspection.
  • Replace cutting tools and monitor tool wear.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues with Engineering and Quality.
  • Complete production and inspection documentation.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and maintain a clean work area.
  • Follow all safety, AS9100, and quality procedures.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.


Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school, machining certificate, or CNC programming education preferred.


Experience Requirements



  • Experience operating, setting up, or programming CNC machine tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
  • Understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, speeds, and material properties.
  • Strong attention to detail, mathematical ability, and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Proficient with micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, and thread gauges.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or multi-axis equipment is preferred.
  • Experience editing CNC programs, setting tooling offsets, and performing machine setups is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with G-code, CAD/CAM software, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, continuous learning, and commitment to precision manufacturing are well positioned for success as a CNC Machinist.
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in an AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 environment.
  • Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and similar alloys.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
