What to Expect
As a Program Coordination Specialist with secondary ownership of modular site permitting, you will align design, construction, utilities, and stakeholders to schedule and scope for construction projects with public occupancy. You will also drive modular site permitting from first jurisdiction outreach through occupancy when approvals sit on the critical path. Success means coordinated program execution, modular permits secured, clear risk visibility, and acquiring inspection or certificate of occupancy on schedule. Office location is open for discussion; the role requires up to 50% travel.
What You'll Do
- Assist with program coordination across design, construction, operations, and external partners-aligning scope, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables to keep projects on schedule
- Own cross-functional communication, risk tracking, and action closure so program decisions and blockers are visible and resolved quickly
- Maintain program matrices, calendars, and critical-path timelines across concurrent workstreams and jurisdictions
- Partner with engineering and design early to align deliverables, review drawings for readiness, and support iterative design cycles for modular facilities
- Support and execute modular site permitting and assist with navigating AHJ and modular approval paths, prepare/submit/track packages, and close plan-check comments for factory-built and site-assembled scopes
- Engage building departments, fire marshals, planning/zoning, utilities, and other agencies as needed; drive inspections and close-out through TCO/CO with audit-ready records
- Travel up to 50% for program meetings, site walks, AHJ engagements, inspections, and milestones; continuously improve coordination and modular permitting playbooks to reduce cycle time
What You'll Bring
- Demonstrated experience providing program coordination support across multi-stakeholder construction or facilities programs, including schedule, dependency, and deliverable tracking
- 5-10 years of experience with state and local permitting requirements for construction projects with public occupancy
- Experience supporting modular or prefabricated site permitting, including factory-built components, modular assembly sequencing, and jurisdiction-specific modular approval paths
- Proven ability to secure or support permits through plan-check, revision, and inspection cycles with municipal and state agencies
- Deep working knowledge of building codes, zoning/land use, life safety/fire, accessibility, and occupancy classifications for publicly occupied facilities
- Experience supporting engineering design efforts with code/permit input during design development and coordinated plan revisions
- Strong communication and organization skills across AHJs, consultants, contractors, and cross-functional partners; ability to critique architectural, structural, MEP, and civil drawings; bias for ownership and urgency; proficiency with project/permitting tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, Accela/e-permitting, Excel/Smartsheet); ability to travel up to 50%; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, or equivalent experience preferred
