We are seeking Mechanical Engineers to assist the design effort for groundbreaking Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) projects. This role is pivotal in developing next-generation production infrastructure, enabling unprecedented manufacturing scale and efficiency. In this role, you will work with the lead mechanical engineer for the design and engineering efforts to support construction of infrastructure development, from concept level to production.


What You'll Do
  • Develop construction drawings for permit. Manage multiple projects throughout planning, design, bid, and construction phases
  • Make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgement, evidence, and calculation
  • Able to develop quantity take-offs and assist with cost estimating for projects in a timely manner
  • Apply engineering fundamentals and a broad set of mechanical engineering tools to solve technical problems
  • Review and develop designs that are cost effective, constructable and code compliant while meeting Tesla's quality and schedule requirements
  • Resolving design issues creatively and thoroughly coordinating design with other disciplines. Coordinate work with all other disciplines and ensure fully coordinated design package provided for construction

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and process systems design experience
  • Design experience in a wide range of project types
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical equipment such as: Dehumidification Units, Air Scrubbers, Dust Collectors, Heat Exchangers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, Compressors, process gas/fluid systems, Air Handling Units, Terminal Units, Fans / Blowers, Pumps, Control Valves and Instrumentation, Hazardous Exhaust, Heat Recovery Systems
  • Knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to facilities engineering
  • Proficient in the use of various computer programs such as HVAC load calculations in HAP, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, Revizto, and Navisworks
  • Construction administration experience with submittals, RFI's and field verification
  • Experience in the preparation of mechanical contract drawings and engineering specifications
