Sr. Technical Manager

Location:Whiting Mill, Neenah Mill and Neenah Converting Center


Description:


TheSeniorTechnicalManageris responsible formaintainingcustomer satisfactionexpectationsfor three of Mativ's specialty paper and packaging facilities, as well as evaluating,prioritizingandexecutingimprovement strategies.Thison-siteposition can bebased out of eitherNeenah, WIor Stevens Point, WI, but will requireregulartravel between the sites.



Responsibilities:




  • Promote a culture of safety and quality by modeling strong leadership behavioras part of theWhiting Mill, Neenah Mill, and Neenah Converting Center site leadership teams.






  • Provide technicalexpertisetomodifyexisting mill processesand/orbyaddingnew processes that will improve quality and increase profitability.






  • Address customer complaints, including ensuring thorough investigations, assignment of corrective and preventative actions, and communication to internal and external stakeholders.






  • Attain new business through the development of superior customer relationshipsanddemonstratedunderstanding ofourassets'capabilities.Maintain athorough understanding ofour performance during new product trialsand a willingness to share information that helps the team advance its skillset and capabilities.






  • Protect Mativ's business bycomplyingwithany external certifications, performingauditsand conducting routine reviews to manage risksand drive continuous improvement.Serveas thecentral pointof contact for multi-site certificates.






  • Support the evaluation,approvaland monitoring ofthirdpartycontract manufacturing partners and suppliers.






  • Support the evaluation and onboarding of new business and product changesbymeeting all quality and regulatory requirements, such as quality agreements, product specifications, validations, and supplier and supplied material qualification.






  • Execute and develop capital projects necessary to sustain or improve new and existing products.






  • Ensure the effective implementationand ongoing executionof a Quality Management System.






  • Act as the key liaison between Sales/Customer Service and Operations






  • Provide oversight to site-specific technical and quality resources in adhering to product specification processes, nonconforming product processes, as well as proper laboratory and testing management.






  • Develop a Quality Improvement Plan to elevate customer satisfaction and drive down the cost ofpoor quality.






  • Responsible fordevelopingand mentoringdirect reports through setting goals, conducting performancediscussionsand managing team workload.






  • Contribute to theglobal quality organizationbydeveloping,implementingand sharingbest practices in a systematic and scalable manner.






Qualifications:


Required




  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineeringor another technical field.






  • Aminimum of 5 years' experience ina manufacturingqualityand ortechnicalleadership roles.






  • Ability to travel to customer sites if requested.




Preferred




  • Bachelor's degree inEngineeringor another technical field with a minimum of10 years'experience, with at least 3in a manufacturing qualityor technicalrole.






  • Lean Six Sigma or ASQ Certificationa plus.






  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor/Managera plus.




Competencies




  • Strong problem solving, quantitative, analyticalskills.






  • Strong skills in various applications including Minitab, Microsoft, and ERP systems






  • Strong leadership skills, including change management






  • Experience with Quality Management Systems, such as ISO 9001






  • Experience withmorehighlyregulated Management Systems, such as Cosmetic and/or Automotive
