Assist Chemist with laboratory chemical and physical tests and methodologies required for monitoring the quality of manufacturing processes and products. Also to maintain, record, and file data generated by laboratory activities and analytical work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain a selection of chemicals used in analyses (dilutions, chemical concentration calculations, volumetric glassware, etc.) Perform routine maintenance on instruments to ensure minimal downtime and proper care (Exchange gas cylinders, regular cleaning, cleaning tailored to instrument) Perform analyses on various wastewater, lead, and sulfuric acid-containing samples to ensure the quality of processes and products (ICP-OES, Spark-OES, Turbidity, Titrations, Powder XRD, Surface Area, Particle Size, etc.) Recommend changes in laboratory procedures and equipment to increase the efficiency of the laboratory. Report completed experiments promptly to the appropriate department and input data into spreadsheets daily. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
