Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel
The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views. JOB PURPOSE: The In-Room Dining Order Taker will be the primary point-of-contact for our guests who wish to experience an upscale in-room meal and/or beverage experience. The In-Room Dining Order Taker will take guest orders, offer menu suggestions, summarize orders and correctly enter all pertinent information into our point-of-sale system. He/she will close checks to the correct account and ensure servers have all the information they need to deliver orders efficiently and correctly. The In-Room Dining Order Taker also facilitates amenity deliveries, calls back guests to ensure every aspect of their order was delivered to their satisfaction and does whatever it takes to ensure timely and accurate service. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Complete knowledge of service time, menu and specials Responsible for answering the phone in a timely manner. Take orders for guests. Must follow prepared scenario to encourage upselling. Give the approximate time of delivery for the order. Prepare payment of checks. Knowledge of food menu and wine list. Know and adhere to all liability laws. Printing of reports at the end of the shift and banking out. Complete other duties assigned. Attend all designated staff meetings and training sessions. QUALIFICATIONS: Previous food and beverage experience in hotel preferred Room Service experience is preferred Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overnightshifts Must be able to lift at least 30lbs Candidate should possess excellent communication skills ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS: Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 30 pounds without assistance. Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Requires repetitive motion. May work both indoors and outdoors.
