Position Summary

If you are a recent graduate seeking to build your skills
and experience working at an institution of higher education, please consider
the following opportunity.

The Office of Advising Strategies (OAS) is looking for a
Professional Intern to support UNM Student Hub operations (a Salesforce
application), training, user support, system maintenance, testing, and
related projects. This position provides on-the-job training and professional
development for a recent graduate interested in higher education student
success, technology, business processes, data, training, administration, and
customer service.

The selected candidate will work closely with the Student
Hub team and campus partners to help users navigate Student Hub processes,
coordinate training and communications, provide basic issue triage, maintain
system content, and support testing and data-validation projects. The
position requires the ability to adapt quickly to technology, communicate
complex processes in an accessible way, work independently, and collaborate
effectively with faculty, staff, students, and other campus partners.

This is a fixed-term position, with a term end date 2 years from date of hire. This position will have a full-time schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

The individual selected for this position will:

  • Coordinate Student Hub communications regarding training and onboarding, and system updates. Utilize email, Teams, and/or meetings to strategize communications as appropriate.
  • Assist with the development and updating of Student Hub training videos and learning materials, including website updates as needed.
  • Provide basic triage for faculty, staff, and students
    for basic Student Hub issues and case management and escalate larger or more
    complex issues to the Student Hub team as appropriate.
  • Support Student Hub staff in the building, cleanup, and
    maintenance of basic system areas.
  • Support projects requiring validation of large datasets.
  • Test new or enhanced Student Hub features and provide
    comprehensive documentation of testing results.

Conditions of Employment
  • Must present transcripts prior to a formal offer being extended.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • This is a fixed-term position, typically up to 24 months.


Minimum Qualifications

Must have obtained a Bachelor's or higher level degree no more than 24 months prior to the date of hire OR if the Bachelor's (or higher level) degree was obtained more than 24 months prior to the date of hire, the individual must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher level) degree program; no previous work experience required.



Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex systems and processes in a simplified way.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Comfort working with Salesforce software, such as Student Hub, TargetX, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly, especially when working with technology and changing processes.
  • Ability to work independently for extended periods while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage detailed, multi-step processes involving multiple layers of data.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft productivity tools, including Excel, Word, and Forms.
  • Ability to analyze and document both business and technical processes.
  • Ability to receive and respond constructively to critical feedback.
  • Professional business etiquette, sound business ethics, and a strong work ethic.
