Temporary Clinical Trial Research Assistant

The UI Stead Family Department of Pediatrics is seeking a self-motivated temporary Clinical Trials Research Assistant to support our research efforts in the division of Pulmonology. This role will aid in the conduct of off-site study visits.

• Supervise sections of the required "24/7 observation periods for a Pancreatic Enzyme research study.
  
  
  
  • Stay in hotel room adjacent to the study participant to:
    
    
    
    • Document study medication intake
    • Provide the pre-prepared study meals and snacks
    • Record intake of study meals and snacks.
    • Instruct participant on stool collection process.
    • Identify any changes in health during this time period.

  • Stool collection
    
    
    
    • Collect all stool between administration of the first blue dye marker through the appearance of the second blue dye marker in the stool
    • Assess the stool for presence of blue dye parker.
    • Track the date/time and consistency of stool.
    • Store the stool in the freezer
    • Transport the stool to the Clinical Research Unit at Iowa Healthcare main campus.

• Complete training required by Sponsor for conduct of this study.

  • Any change in health issues

Education Requirements

* * Bachelor's degree in health sciences or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
