| Primary Purpose of Position |
This position assists the departmental faculty members in preparing materials for classes, answering the telephone, taking messages, answering questions from students and faculty, maintaining undergraduate majors file folders, and assisting the administrative assistant in completing assigned tasks. |

| Essential Job Functions |
This position assists the departmental faculty members in preparing materials for classes, answering the telephone, taking messages, answering questions from students and faculty, tasks undergraduate and graduate records management, and assisting the administrative assistant in completing assigned tasks.
The range of duties includes, but is not limited to, verifying data, summarizing, and reconciling information or financial data, records management, claims review and processing, data collection and analysis, research, inventory, personnel administration and fund collection or expenditures. |
| Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position |
Work requires specialized knowledge in the processing and application of information, documents and/or materials. The majority of time is allocated to tasks that involve several steps and require the selection of the most appropriate action within procedural and operational guidelines. Work requires knowledge of program policies, procedures and information systems in order to communicate and process information. |
| Preferred Qualifications |
Basic secretarial and supervisory skills along with the ability to work independently, without instruction, to work under pressure, to prioritize work and stay focused in a busy environment with constant interruptions, to make administrative decisions, and to be patient and flexible in a demanding environment. Experience with Word, Excel, Banner, calculator, copiers, printers, Acrobat Adobe, and email. |

Responds to inquiries, which require written explanation or interpretation of established policies, procedures and programs. Reviews sensitive materials and edits content constructively.
- Information/Records Administration: Utilizes, reconciles and manipulates data for management reports from different internal and external sources. Applies an understanding of the information in order to extrapolate key data elements. May serve as a lead worker.
- Knowledge-Program: Applies substantive knowledge of program policies and procedures that affect operations. Applies program knowledge to client situations; applies knowledge of program content and services in the analysis of information and decision-making.
