About UICOMP The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) educates 244 medical students and nearly 300 physician residents annually. It is one of four campuses that make up the nation's largest public medical school. The Peoria campus is known among students for its small class sizes, rigorous curriculum and hands-on clerkships; to residents and fellows for the strong academic setting, large referral base and exceptional facilities; and by physicians seeking the ideal combination of teaching and practicing medicine in a research-based university setting. Position Summary This position manages advanced business responsibilities for the Department of Internal Medicine, budget development and assists in strategic fiscal planning. The Senior Business Manager executes business operations including but not limited to contracting, generation and distribution of financial & productivity reports, data analysis and providing business insights serving as a resource. The position works under the general supervision of the Internal Medicine Director of Administrative Operations. Duties & Responsibilities Coordinates the development, renewal, and modification of contracts by submitting required documentation and monitoring contract status throughout the approval process. Updates contract exhibits, investigates budget variances, and manages approved contract modifications to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. Ensures timely invoicing and payment processing for all contracts by preparing, submitting, and monitoring invoices and resolving payment-related issues. Assists with monthly and quarterly reconciliations and monitors departmental financial activity to identify issues, evaluate trends, and recommend corrective actions when needed. Monitors balances across all Department of Internal Medicine funds and supports the effective utilization of financial resources. Prepares, analyzes, and presents monthly productivity and financial reports for all sections, including annual budget projections and ongoing expense monitoring. Collects, organizes, and analyzes data to support the development and calculation of annual contract performance and incentive plans. Processes and submits monthly variable compensation information to Payroll in accordance with established deadlines and guidelines. Collaborates with the Director of Administrative Operations and Fiscal Affairs to address departmental questions related to financial data, reporting, and business operations, serving as a technical resource for department leadership and staff.
