Position Summary
This position is responsible for assisting the Creative Services department's efforts in creating a digital identity strategy that includes graphic and motion graphic design, visual identity, digital and social media strategy. The Graphic Designer will fulfill requests from many different areas, including Athletic Communications, Marketing and Recruiting, while adhering to and assisting in the development of the programs' brand standards. Alongside the Assistant Athletic Director of Social Media and Digital Strategy, work to develop and implement a visual communication plan for the 21-sport Athletic department.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Knowledge of graphic design, communications, marketing, or a closely-related field.
  • Experience in professional sports or collegiate athletics creative, communications or marketing areas.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (including, but not limited to Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere Pro).
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms (including, but not limited to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills. Ability to perform detail-oriented work accurately and to communicate effectively with a diverse population. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to University System of Georgia, NCAA, SEC, and Athletic Association rules and regulations.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can escalate to high during practice and athletic competitions.

  • Ideate and develop social and digital media, marketing, recruiting and promotional assets - including, but not limited to static graphics, motion graphics and GIFs.
  • Create static graphic templates for department-wide use.
  • Collaborate with individual sports to develop a complete digital identity that includes social media and print materials. Social media templates include but are not limited to game day, score updates, lineups, awards and honors, superlatives and schedule graphics.
