Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Observability SME to serve as the technical authority for enterprise observability strategy, monitoring standards, and operational visibility. This role will drive the adoption of modern observability practices across applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and digital services while maximizing the value of Dynatrace and complementary observability technologies.

The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise with Dynatrace, APM, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, cloud-native monitoring, and SRE practices. The role requires strong technical leadership and the ability to establish enterprise standards, improve monitoring maturity, and leverage AI-driven observability to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Observability Leadership

  • Define, establish, and promote enterprise observability best practices, standards, and governance.
  • Lead the design and implementation of observability frameworks for business-critical applications and services.
  • Develop monitoring strategies spanning applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and end-user experience.
  • Drive standardization of metrics, logs, traces, events, and telemetry across the organization.
  • Partner with engineering, infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and SRE teams to improve operational visibility and reliability.
  • Identify gaps in observability coverage and develop roadmaps to address them.

Dynatrace Platform Expertise

  • Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert for the Dynatrace platform.
  • Provide technical leadership for Dynatrace architecture, implementation, configuration, and optimization.
  • Guide deployment and management of Dynatrace OneAgent across applications and infrastructure.
  • Leverage Dynatrace Davis AI, Grail, DQL, and Business Analytics capabilities.
  • Optimize monitoring coverage, service discovery, topology, dependency mapping, and application visibility.
  • Lead performance analysis, troubleshooting, root-cause investigations, and optimization initiatives.
  • Establish Dynatrace standards, dashboards, alerting strategies, and reporting practices.

AI-Driven Observability & AIOps

  • Leverage Dynatrace Davis AI and AIOps capabilities for anomaly detection, event correlation, and automated problem analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to automate operational investigations, diagnostics, and insight generation.
  • Support the adoption of AI-assisted observability and intelligent alerting capabilities.
  • Evaluate emerging observability and AIOps technologies and recommend solutions that improve operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on expertise with the Dynatrace platform.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise observability frameworks and methodologies.
  • Proficiency with OpenTelemetry and modern telemetry collection practices.
  • Strong Application Performance Monitoring (APM) experience.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed tracing and service dependency analysis.
  • Experience with centralized log analytics and event management.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native monitoring and observability.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
  • Solid understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices.
  • Experience with metrics, logs, traces, events, dashboards, alerting, and service-level monitoring.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to work across engineering, infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and operations teams.

Preferred Certifications

  • Dynatrace Professional Certification
  • Dynatrace Performance Engineering Certification
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing observability solutions in large enterprise environments.
  • Experience integrating Dynatrace with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise tooling.
  • Knowledge of OpenTelemetry architecture and instrumentation.
  • Experience developing observability standards, governance models, and reference architectures.
  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
