Do you have experience managing donor relationships, developing funding proposals, and coordinating partnership strategies and deliverables? National 4-H Council is seeking a Development Manager to steward and grow an annual portfolio of corporate and foundation partners in support of our mission and fundraising goals.

As the Development Manager, you will manage and steward an annual portfolio of $1 million to $4 million, including gifts ranging from $150,000 to $500,000 from national corporations and foundations. You will develop customized proposals, partnership activation strategies, and impact reports; coordinate legal review and donor deliverables; manage program plans and timelines; maintain donor activity in the organization's CRM; and identify opportunities to renew and grow partnership revenue.

Position Summary

The Development Manager will renew corporate partners to raise restricted & unrestricted revenue and increase brand awareness for 4-H. With an annual goal of $1-4 million dollars, the Development Manager will steward existing donors to renew their partnership and grow their investment in National 4-H Council. The Development Manager will manage donor gifts ranging from $150K to $500K from major national corporations and foundations as well as work across the organization to meet deliverables and seek opportunities to steward donors through local engagements, National Council events and customized opportunities.

Essential Functions

  • Steward annual portfolio of $1M-$4M to achieve Council's fundraising goals.
  • Develop customized, creative proposals based on donor interest to renew and grow national corporate and foundation funding including oversite of legal review and creating partnership impact reports.
  • Develop unique activation strategies that further partners' business objectives such as employee engagement, storytelling & stakeholder engagement while maximizing fundraising potential and ensuring year-over-year growth of partnership revenues.
  • Liaise between cross-functional and external internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions per donor's needs, and to improve the entire customer experience.
  • Achieve portfolio metrics with a focus on long-term retention, growth and collaboration opportunities. Seek and develop additional revenue opportunities as appropriate.
  • Manage program plan and timeline with internal teams and keep them informed and on track to execute deliverable promptly; maintain action items in a central location for the team.
  • Collaborate with other Development and Marketing Team Members to ensure alignment on grant implementation pieces of new business.
  • Stay informed about organizational priorities and create areas of alignment through strategic relationship management and donor stewardship.
  • Maintain knowledge of corporate and foundation giving and relevant industry trends and best practices for increasing revenue and amplifying our storytelling.
  • Manage other projects as required by Director Development.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate tracking and reporting of all outreach in organization CRM.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, non-profit management, related field, or any combination of relevant work experience.
  • 3-5 years proven experience working with high-level donor representatives or similar relevant experience leading relationships.
  • 1-3 years proven experience in successful corporate or foundation fundraising and relationship management, including establishing and growing relationships between private and non-profit sectors.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated analytical, strategic planning, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders across technology platforms, including virtual and video conferencing, collaborative documents and etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multi-faceted projects and perform well independently in a fluid, multitasking environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage workload while navigating ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook) required.
  • Must be able to perform in a team-oriented, remote environment.
  • Experience maintaining accurate data in a CRM database. Stratus Live experience is a plus.

Travel Requirements: Travel may be necessary up to 20% of the time (local, regional, national). This role would require travel by air, car, or rail.

Salary Range Disclosure: The salary range listed reflects the national market range for this position. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the selected candidate's geographic location and internal equity considerations.
