Job Summary:

Under moderate supervision, the Conflicts Analyst reviews conflicts of interest pertinent to the Firm's clients and contributes to the New Business Intake process. The Conflicts Analyst also supports the financial vetting and risk assessment of prospective clients, helping to ensure compliance with Firm policies related to creditworthiness, reputational risk, anti-money laundering (AML), and client acceptance standards. The role utilizes advanced technology solutions, including AI-powered platforms, to enhance due diligence, conflict analysis, and intake efficiency.

Job Functions:

  • Perform full range of conflict check process so to ensure all new and existing clients are vetted for potential conflicts.This includes: performing conflict searches in 3E; creating conflict reports for attorneys and for confidential lateral/new hires; conducting thorough research via external sources; providing review and analysis of conflict reports to attorneys; creating email summaries of conflict issues for attorneys; sending out daily conflict report to the firm.
  • Inputting and maintaining information in the Firm database and ensuring the integrity of the data for Conflicts and Billing.
  • Answering conflicts inquiries from internal clients while providing excellent client service.
  • Processing New Business Intake forms and activating new clients and matters in the database. Monitoring the progress of the New Business Intake process and responding to issues that may stall the process.
  • Conduct financial and business risk assessments of prospective clients as part of the Firm's client intake and onboarding process, including review of credit information, bankruptcy filings, litigation history, sanctions screening results, and other available financial and reputational data. Partner with attorneys, Finance, Compliance, and Risk Management teams to identify and escalate potential financial, ethical, regulatory, or reputational concerns associated with new client engagements.
  • Utilize AI-enabled tools and other Firm-approved technologies, to enhance conflict analysis, due diligence investigations, client risk evaluations, and intake workflows while maintaining data accuracy and regulatory compliance. Analyze and validate information generated through AI-assisted platforms and other data sources, exercising independent judgment to ensure appropriate recommendations and decision-making.
  • Assist with the ongoing development and improvement of technology-driven intake and conflicts processes, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery.
  • May be asked to perform additional tasks and projects as requested.

  • Demonstrates strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities when evaluating potential client, financial, and reputational concerns.
  • Adapts quickly to evolving technologies and effectively leverages AI-enabled tools to improve productivity, accuracy, and decision-making.
  • Exercises sound judgment when reviewing AI-generated insights and recommendations, ensuring alignment with Firm policies and professional standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of legal related experience, preferably in the conflicts area.
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment and to keep a level-head during stressful situations, including receiving time sensitive requests with short notice.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and the willingness to work additional hours as needed. This includes sharing an on-call schedule that includes evening hours and weekends, as needed.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills along with the ability to draft reporting documents to present findings.
  • Proficiency in 3E, and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn and adopt emerging technology solutions.
  • Ability to work independently while at the same time working as a team member in the department.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, and the ability to present information to management in a confident and professional manner.
  • Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to establish priorities and complete diverse assignments on a timely basis.
  • Experience supporting new business intake, client onboarding, conflicts resolution, or risk management functions within a law firm or professional services environment preferred
  • Knowledge of client financial vetting practices, including credit risk reviews, bankruptcy research, sanctions screening, anti-money laundering (AML) considerations, and reputational risk assessments preferred
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to utilize AI-powered research, intake, and analysis tools, and to assess and validate information from multiple sources, while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with Firm policies.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the salary range for this specific position at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to qualifications and experience, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
