Financial & Insurance Coordinator
Little Crown Pediatric Dentistry Little Crown Pediatric Dentistry is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Financial & Insurance Coordinator to join our team. This position plays an important role in managing insurance verification, accounts receivable, patient financial accounts, and supporting the front office team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, with dental or orthodontic experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Enter and verify patient insurance information within 24 hours of the patient being scheduled.
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to patient appointments.
Follow up on, track, and manage insurance accounts receivable.
Manage patient accounts receivable, including delinquent balances and collection activity beginning at 30 days past due.
Work with families to resolve outstanding balances and maintain positive financial relationships.
Send statements to accounts with outstanding balances.
Assist with accounts payable, including balancing statements, invoices, and payments.
Update and manage insurance changes and patient/family account information.
Communicate compassionately with families, including those with special circumstances or patients who may require additional assistance.
Support the Scheduling Coordinator and front office team as needed, including answering phones, greeting patients, and scheduling appointments.
Schedule
Full-Time - 40 Hours per Week
Monday: 8:15 AM-5:30 PM - Travel required
Tuesday: 8:15 AM-5:30 PM
Wednesday: 8:15 AM-5:30 PM
Thursday: 9:15 AM-6:30 PM
Friday: 8:15 AM-5:30 PM - Travel required on the first two Fridays of each month
Travel Requirements
This position requires travel between Little Crown Pediatric Dentistry locations in Sierra Madre and Claremont.
Travel is required on Mondays to either Sierra Madre or Claremont.
Travel is also required on the first two Fridays of each month to either Sierra Madre or Claremont.
Travel reimbursement is not provided.
Qualifications & Skills
Dental or orthodontic experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of insurance verification, third-party payers, billing requirements, and reimbursement processes.
Knowledge of dental terminology preferred.
Experience with accounts receivable, collections, and refund processes.
Knowledge of patient accounting and electronic billing.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and families.
Ability to work collaboratively and provide front-office support when needed.
Compensation
$23-$25 per hour, based on experience.
