Job Summary

The Caltech Biophotonics Laboratory, led by Professor Changhuei Yang, is focused on the development of novel tools that combine optics and microfluidics to tackle diagnostic and measurement problems in biology and medicine. The major techniques that are under development in the laboratory include Fourier Ptychographic microscopy, time-reversal optical focusing, and parallel microscopy. The Lab is seeking a Research Technician to conduct research in Computational Microscopy, including conducting optical experiments and writing computational code. This work will involve applying skills and knowledge in physics, computational methods, optical imaging, and related technical areas.

Essential Job Duties
  • Conduct research in computational microscopy, including conducting optical experiments and writing computational imaging code.
  • Apply skills and knowledge in physics, computational methods, optical imaging, and related technical areas.
Basic Qualifications
  • Undergraduate-level courses and/or relevant academic research experience in physics, computational methods, and optical imaging.
  • Experience conducting optical experiments.
  • Experience writing computational imaging code.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Undergraduate Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Hiring Range

$19.00 to $25.75 per hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
