Department 10391 SZ Rsrch Ctr for Surg InnovatnPay Range $20.83 - $34.71 Research Technician position available in Dr. Posnack's cardiac physiology lab.The Research Technician will support experimental studies investigating cardiac function, electrophysiology, and cardiomyocyte biology using a combination of human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC-CMs), in vivo animal models, and ex vivo Langendorff-perfused heart preparations. Responsibilities may include cardiac electrophysiology and functional measurements, tissue and cell-based assays, microscopy, molecular biology, and quantitative analysis of biological signals. Applicants should describe any prior experience with electrocardiogram (ECG) recording or analysis; optical mapping of cardiac voltage or calcium signals; pressure, force, or contractility measurements; pressure-volume loop studies; cell culture; microscopy and immunofluorescence; molecular biology techniques; transcriptomic or other large-scale biological datasets; and computational analysis using MATLAB, Python, or related software packages. Experience with cardiac preparations, animal models, or quantitative analysis of physiological/fluorescence signals is particularly desirable. The Research Technician I conducts research under the direction of a principal investigator. The RT-I performs a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tests, specimen preparations and experimental procedures for the purpose of research as directed. Minimum Education
