What to Expect

As a Fullstack Software Engineer on the Infrastructure DesignX team, you will play a critical role in building and scaling the Machine Learning Platform that optimizes and automates infrastructure planning and construction across our national buildout. You will focus on building user-friendly web and mobile products that bring the power of neural networks, trained on large-scale datasets enriched with real-world context from field engineers, directly to our engineers. Training these models robustly at scale and shipping user-friendly products on top of them in the shortest amount of time is central to our mission.

The Machine Learning Platform empowers our engineers to design, build, and manage infrastructure across the nation faster and more efficiently. As infrastructure buildouts, power demands, and construction costs grow more than ever, we're looking for an exceptional software engineer to drive scalability improvements, new capabilities, and the expansion of the platform into the mobile environment.

What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, and maintain intuitive, responsive web and mobile applications that give engineers fast, reliable access to the Machine Learning Platform's tools and insights
  • Build full-stack features end-to-end, spanning front-end interfaces and the backend services and APIs that power them
  • Collaborate with data and ML engineers to translate complex model outputs and infrastructure data into clear, user-friendly experiences across web and mobile
  • Develop front-end features that consume and visualize complex, real-time data served by backend APIs
  • Build the integrations that connect the platform's tools, so data and insights flow seamlessly across the DesignX ecosystem
  • Contribute to backend services, APIs, and containerized deployments to ship reliable features at scale
  • Provide technical guidance to new users as they adopt the platform, helping them understand how the system works and troubleshoot issues

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with exceptional technical ability and practical software engineering experience
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and the React ecosystem, including major solutions for State Management (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, MobX), Styling (Tailwind CSS, Styled Components, MUI), and Testing (Jest, Vitest, Playwright)
  • Experience building responsive mobile applications (e.g., React Native or equivalent)
  • Solid understanding of web development best practices, security principles, design patterns, scalability principles, and component-reuse strategies, with strong UI and graphic design sensibilities
  • Proficiency in writing production-quality code in Python, with familiarity with major machine learning frameworks, computer vision, or neural networks
  • Ability to work with complex data models such as rate schedules, time-series energy data, and financial calculations
  • Experience with data visualization and interactive modeling tools
  • Experience with backend infrastructure: relational databases, containerization, workflow orchestration, and stream processing/messaging systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
