Job Summary/Overview
To work with the supervisor to ensure information, product, equipment, and manpower are being used in Department to ensure high service level on customer orders and transfers. Recommends, implements, and trains operators in method changes as required. Responsible for the understanding, communicating, and assuring compliance to all company policies with regard to attendance, safety, quality, discipline, and productivity for those employees under his/her direct leadership. Works with the other Manufacturing Leaders, Production Supervisor, Production Manager, Scheduling, and Engineering to co-ordinate proper workflow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote and support a strong safety culture by following all plant safety policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and assist with daily production and maintenance activities to meet operational goals.
- Monitor production performance through routine audits, hourly production checks, and verification of reporting accuracy.
- Review and sign off on hourly production charts and oversee SQDCI Level 2 boards to ensure targets are achieved.
- Identify and communicate inventory discrepancies, material shortages, and other issues that may impact production schedules or on-time shipments.
- Ensure completion of required store and workplace audits.
- Move materials and products as needed to maintain workflow and support production operations.
- Provide operator relief and production support as required.
- Maintain certification and safely operate powered industrial trucks.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
- Assist in adjusting work assignments and staffing levels to accommodate absences, vacations, and changing production demands.
- Participate in safety programs, including accident and incident investigations, corrective action implementation, and safety meetings.
- Inspect equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency standards.
- Coordinate and schedule employee training activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use measurement instruments accurately.
- Ability to safely lift, lower, push, and pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to complete and maintain annual First Aid and CPR training certification.
