Responsibilities

Junior-level Systems Engineers support a multi-disciplinary approach to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability, and analysis across the National System of Geospatial-intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-intelligence (ASG), and Federal Agencies to ensure timely and accurate GEOINT.

The Systems Engineer supports the Government and Mid-Level engineers in analyzing mission and customer needs, developing and evaluating technical solutions, allocating requirements across system architectures, and supporting the integration and execution of systems and capabilities. The successful candidate will contribute to technical planning, requirements analysis, systems integration, performance engineering, risk management, and related engineering activities across the system life cycle.

Requirements & Systems Engineering
    Assists Mid-Level engineers and the Government with requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability, and analysis across the NSG, ASG, and Federal Agencies.
  • Assists with planning and analysis, including user requirements traceability, architecture traceability, procedures, and problem analysis to automate or improve existing systems.
  • Supports the review of cloud service capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
  • Assists the Government in capturing and translating mission and customer requirements and needs into system and capability requirements and solutions.
  • Supports the analysis and allocation of requirements to system architecture components and executing programs.
Solutions Engineering & Technical Analysis
  • Assists in developing solution designs based on requirements analysis and emerging technologies.
  • Assists with Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), trade studies, and engineering assessments.
  • Supports the evaluation of technical approaches, system capabilities, and potential solutions.
Systems Integration & Engineering
  • Assists the Government in performing systems integration activities.
  • Supports the integration and coordination of system components, capabilities, and interfaces.
  • Contributes to systems engineering activities across the development and implementation of new and existing capabilities.
  • Supports test and evaluation activities as part of broader systems engineering efforts.
Technical Planning & Program Support
  • Assists the Government with strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design.
  • Supports Mid-Level engineers and Government stakeholders in identifying technical risks, system limitations, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contributes to engineering activities and technical assessments supporting mission and program objectives.

Location: This position is fully onsite in Springfield, VA.



Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical or scientific field, such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or another related STEM discipline, or equivalent junior-level experience as a Systems Engineer.
  • Junior-level working systems engineering experience in government or industry.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or the ability to obtain SCI and successfully pass a polygraph.
Desired
  • Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts, practices, and languages.
  • Working knowledge of software development frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of the geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) mission domain.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
