In addition, the Finance Area is home to the Center for Finance and Technology and the Tony Kepano Joint Center for Real Estate, both of which foster practitioner and academic collaboration, promote industry engagement, and cultivate student success.

Job Summary

The Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia seeks applications to fill a Professor of the Practice in Real Estate. The Professor of the Practice in Real Estate will teach 4-6 3-credit-hour undergraduate and MBA students in real estate finance, development, investment analysis, and related foundational topics, while developing applied, practice-oriented course materials that connect academic concepts to current industry practice. The position also includes mentoring students interested in real estate careers and supporting experiential learning through case studies, project-based instruction, guest speakers, and other professional engagement opportunities. In addition, the faculty member will contribute to business outreach and external relationship-building on behalf of the Tony Kepano Joint Center for Real Estate by engaging alumni, employers, developers, investors, lenders, and other industry partners, and by helping support center programming and initiatives that advance its visibility and impact.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience
Have substantial bases of experience, normally at least ten (10) to fifteen (15) years, and a national/international reputation for excellence.
Have rich and extensive backgrounds in fields and disciplines related to the school or college of appointment at the Institute.
Will serve as liaisons between industry or government and the Institute in identifying teaching and research opportunities that support the public interest and societal needs.
May be expected (depending on circumstances of their appointment) to generate financial resources to support and enhance the Institute programs in which they work.

Required Qualifications

The minimum requirements are 10 years of working experience in all areas of real estate. Including but not limited to: development, finance, legal, construction, commercial, and residential.
