| Job Description |
The
STEM Center seeks a motivated Graduate Student to support projects. This position is 10 hours per week from Fall 2026 through Summer I 2027.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform professional or administrative services that support
STEM outreach and engagement initiatives.
* Assist with developing and distributing marketing and communications materials, including social media content, newsletters, and promotional flyers.
* Support coordination of K-12 field trip experiences on campus, including scheduling, logistics, and day-of facilitation.
* Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus departments to plan and execute engaging on-site
STEM experiences for visiting student groups.
* Serve as a liaison between the
STEM Center and K-12 schools, teachers, and community partners to coordinate visit details and follow-up communication.
* Prepare documents, presentations, and materials that support programming and outreach efforts.
* Track project timelines, event and research documentation, and program outcomes.
* Support research and data collection activities.
* Assist with writing and editing content for conference presentations, reports, proposals, and communications.

Qualifications Required
- Enrollment in a graduate program at East Carolina University.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments and external partners.
* Basic academic writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience or interest in marketing, communications, or public outreach.
- Willingness to engage with K-12 students and educators in a professional campus setting.
- Careful attention to detail in managing schedules, correspondence, and program materials.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and basic design tools (e.g., Canva) is a plus.
- Interest in STEM education, outreach, or informal learning environments.
