Location: Tempe, AZ | Hybrid Reports To: Training Manager Job Summary Are you passionate about creating learning experiences that make a real impact? IES is looking for an Instructional Designer to join our Training team in Tempe, Arizona, in a hybrid role. You'll help develop engaging, effective learning experiences for employees across the organization while combining creativity, instructional design expertise, and technology to transform information into training that is practical, accessible, and engaging. Reporting to the Training Manager, you'll collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts to develop and deliver training content, manage our Learning Management System (LMS), and continuously improve learning resources. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing ideas to life, collaborating across teams, and making complex or technical information easier to understand while having the flexibility of a hybrid work environment. What You'll Do Develop and design engaging courses, curricula, and learning experiences. Create, edit, and enhance online learning materials. Design learning activities, assignments, assessments, and supporting resources. Develop computer-based training (CBT) modules and storyboards. Create instructor manuals, rubrics, and other tools that support effective training. Partner with subject matter experts and management to transform technical or specialized information into effective course content. Manage and support online learning communities and the Learning Management System (LMS). Review, update, and continuously improve existing online learning content. Train instructors on learning technologies and tools. Facilitate discussion, engagement, and collaboration through social media and other digital channels. Stay current on instructional design trends, technologies, and best practices. Assist with developing scripts for video and audio learning content. Partner with technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve user-reported learning technology issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Min USD $70,000.00/Yr. Max USD $80,000.00/Yr. Qualifications What You'll Bring We're looking for someone who can combine creativity, organization, technology, and strong communication skills to create learning experiences that connect with employees. Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design principles. Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS). Understanding of visual design and best practices for creating effective learning experiences. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Experience with e-learning development software such as Articulate Storyline and Camtasia. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences. Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to ask thoughtful, detailed questions. Ability to prioritize projects and successfully manage multiple deadlines. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree or technical degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field. Previous experience in instructional design.
