Are you looking for a role where your organizational skills can strengthen essential statewide programs? Advance your career as an Administrative Assistant 1 with the Vehicle Inspection Division at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and support major regulatory and operational activities.



DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the Vehicle Inspection Division, Field Operations Section, including hearings, suspensions, and quality assurance activities. You will help ensure accurate records, smooth workflow, and clear communication across the unit. As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Audit Support: Assist clerical staff by reviewing audit materials and reports from auditors and law enforcement
  • Record Management: Prepare agendas, maintain records, and edit correspondence for staff
  • Document Updates: Help draft and update manuals, guides, and reference documents used by the section
  • Procedure Review: Analyze and revise proposed procedures and consult with legal staff on needed changes
  • Communication Duties: Provide information to agencies, officers, auditors, station owners, and inspectors
  • Board Support: Perform minute-taking and other administrative tasks for advisory board meetings

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
