Johns Hopkins Medicine International (JHI) is a healthcare services organization created to further the mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine; namely, to improve the health of the global community by setting the standard of excellence in medical education, research and clinical care. To accomplish this mission, JHI has developed a series of products and services to assist public and private sector clients raise the standard of care at medical institutions abroad. Among those products and services include hospital management support, clinical care, medical program development, education, training, quality assurance, patient safety, international accreditation, and other similar services. JHI provides both advisory and implementation support in these areas and customizes it according to the client's particular needs, taking into account not only clinical and operational factors, but also local customs and culture. The position of Senior Associate reports to a Director and/or Managing Director. The individual will be responsible for day-to-day project management and implementation of JHI programs. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Research and Analysis: The Senior Associate will have the responsibility to conduct research and analysis, translate it to the context of the project that JHI is considering, and make recommendations to managers. For new initiatives, this may involve an analysis of data such as demographics, diseases, market conditions, healthcare trends, and competition. Once the analysis is complete, the Senior Associate will make recommendations on whether JHI should proceed with a particular initiative, and if so, what options may exist to achieve optimal success. For existing projects, this may involve an analysis of hospital performance data, knowledge transfer program outcomes, and other similar indicators; and subsequently the responsibility to make recommendations to managers on how JHI can improve its performance. Writing: The Senior Associate will have the responsibility for doing advanced levels of writing for projects in a format that is ready for presentation to management. This will include the ability to edit drafts prepared by Associates, evaluate options/positions, expand on concepts, and articulate complex topics in a condensed form (goals dictated by the purpose of the document). Written products may include board material, proposals, periodic project updates, annual project overviews and assessments, JHM faculty visit reports, and presentations for senior executives. Project Management: The Senior Associate will have the responsibility to manage major aspects of a project as required by the Director, including development and implementation of knowledge transfer (KT) schedules, reviewing outcomes and making recommendations for changes, implementing expatriate staff training programs, interfacing with clients, driving efficiency in budget management and logistics, and improving methodologies for project management. The Senior Associate may also guide Associates in these functions, as required by the Director. This position calls for some travel, Up to 30% percent of the work year. Education: Bachelor's degree required (Equivalent work experience may substitute degree requirement.); Master's degree preferred (in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, International Affairs, and/or related field) Experience: Minimum five (5) years experience in business, consulting, education, public health, program development, or project management, preferably in an academic medical center or major corporate institution. International experience is a plus. Clinical, nursing, social work, case management, research administration, or other technical health sector experience beneficial. Required Licensure, Certification: Candidates must successfully pass the required JHM approved designated language assessment prior to job offer. New employees must complete all required training within 30 days of hire. PMP or Lean Six Sigma experience or certification highly desirable. Salary Range: Minimum 37.60/hour - Maximum 62.08/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
