As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (COM) has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, College of Medicine's faculty are transforming the world of medicine every day. The Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences is a top-tier department with world-renowned faculty and staff. A full-time Postdoctoral Fellow position is available to work under general supervision of Katherine Burns, PhD. The Burns Laboratory's research is focused on studying endometriosis, a gynecological disease that affects millions of women. The successful applicant will be involved in examining the etiology of endometriosis using a mouse model of disease and human tissue samples. The goals of the current project are to dig deeper into immunotoxicant regulation during the development of endometriosis. The ideal candidate will be a recent PhD graduate with background in reproductive biology or immunology to assist the Principal Investigator and laboratory. This position will conduct research and/or analyze research data and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of the University of Cincinnati. Preferences will be given to those with experience in spectral flow cytometry, RT-PCR, primary cell culture/cell culture, and animal handling techniques. Prior experience with mouse husbandry, mouse surgery, tissue collection, or scRNA sequencing analysis are desired, but not required. He or she will be expected to work independently and with the team, plan and execute experiments, prepare and revise manuscripts for publication, present preliminary findings, and help mentor undergraduate/graduate students.
