Key Responsibilities



  • Perform design calculations for custom inductors (discrete, buck/boost, PFC), transformers (flyback, forward, etc.), and common mode chokes (CMCs) based on customer specifications; support product datasheet creation.
  • Model, evaluate, and test new products.
  • Work with Sales, Marketing and Program Managers to review product requirements, timelines, and new design initiatives.
  • Collaborate with design, process, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to align product design, process, testing till mass production.
  • Coordinate with vendors on materials, designs, schedules, and costs.
  • Provide global production plants with technical support for new and existing designs.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary documentation such as ECNs, AVLs, and Add-A-Component forms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required.
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Three years of experience in inductor and/or transformer design or manufacturing required; knowledge of magnetic materials preferred.
  • Strong foundation in electromagnetic theory, magnetic circuit analysis, core material properties, and inductor/transformer design, including winding techniques, core loss analysis, and thermal management.
  • Knowledge of magnetic components, filter design, electrical design, validation testing, modeling, simulation, and product development.
  • Proficiency with engineering and simulation tools, including ANSYS Maxwell, P-Spice, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of material selection, including cores, wire, SMT components, ferrite, powder core, and amorphous materials.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and process-improvement skills, with proficiency in English.

        • The salary range for this role is $80,000-$110,000, based on experience.
