Medical Assistant, Cardiology - Crystal Run HealthcareMiddletown, New York Sign-On Bonus: $3,000 Sign-On Bonus for External Candidates About the RoleOptum NY/NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support its Cardiology team. In this patient-facing role, you will provide direct clinical support, assist providers during exams and procedures, and help ensure a seamless care experience through strong coordination and compassionate patient care. Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-6:00 PM, plus Saturday every 4-6 weeks from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care and support providers during examinations and procedures. Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with patient flow. Obtain vital signs, perform vision screenings, and complete authorized clinical tests. Assist with office-based diagnostic procedures and treatments within scope of practice. Prepare electronic prescriptions for provider review and processing according to policy. Process laboratory specimens, ensure accurate labeling, and maintain clinical instruments and equipment. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. One or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting OR Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification from one of the following organizations: NAHP NCCT AAMA AMT NHA Preferred Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program. Current CPR/BLS certification.
