Crisis Intervention Specialist - Emergency Department at Providence Portland Medical Center, in Portland, OR.

Per Diem/ Variable Shift

This is a combined posting for a Social Worker LCSW, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. Consideration for each role will be based on qualifications. The Crisis Intervention Specialist practices in an evaluation/treatment setting to evaluate and treat psychiatric and substance use disorders using a patient-centered and trauma-informed approach. Works both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Works with patient/support systems to evaluate and diagnose utilizing Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders; assess patient risk to self and/or others, complete and implement risk reduction/mitigation plans to ensure patient and community safety; complete crisis psychosocial assessment and develop care plan for patient including outpatient resources, follow up appointments and inpatient admission if needed. Must be able to work effectively and flexibly in a high paced, demanding, and unpredictable environment. The Crisis Intervention Specialist shall perform duties in a manner that respects patient self-determination, reduces health disparities/barriers to care, and adheres to the appropriate code of ethics based on licensure, Standards of Practice, and the Providence Mission.

SOCIAL WORKER LCSW

Required Qualifications:



  • Master's Degree - Social Work from a CSWE Accredited School of Social Work, OR from a school in candidacy status by the council of Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Oregon Clinical Social Worker License upon hire.
  • Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request.
  • 2 years - Relevant Social Work experience. May include CSWA experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1 year - All EMPL's: Care Management: Experience in acute care settings.

Required Qualifications:



  • Master's Degree Counseling, Counseling Psychology or related field.
  • upon hire: Oregon Professional Counselor License.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1 year of Master's level practicum in a behavioral health setting in an accredited college or university internship.
  • Additional experience in substance use treatment setting.

  • Additional experience in substance use treatment setting.
